About Latisha Williams

My road to becoming a therapist…

Everyone talks about trauma, but no one talks about how hard it is to heal, whether you are a child who has been in and out of foster care, a parent who has struggled with rejection from a loved one, or someone trying to trust another after sexual abuse.

Your trauma does not have to be your burden to bear alone. I know firsthand what it feels like to feel unloved and unwanted, but I also know the healing power of feeling seen and heard. When you sit down with me, you will be in a space where you can feel seen and heard.

My clients receive a partner who will share in their burden. It is essential in our work together that you feel heard and understood. Yes, we walk through the hard stuff, and yes, I will be honest and transparent with you, but through it all, you will know that I hear you loud and clear.

As a therapist, I started with helping the underserved.

After my Masters degree, I spent over a decade with the underserved population, whether they were adults with mental health disabilities who struggled with feeling seen and validated or children in foster care with developmental disabilities such as ADHD.

Regardless of age or race, everyone from this population needed help finding their voice and knowing that someone would listen.

I work with people from different walks of life, such as couples who struggle with the impact of child abuse and its effects on their relationships. My most recent clients have been children impacted by divorce and parents struggling with co-parenting.

Adolescents, a league of their own:

Social media has helped people feel connected, but it has also created ways for others to feel more alone and unaccepted.

Do you feel your teen is becoming increasingly isolated or it’s hard to talk to them without an argument?

I have worked with teens since 2014, I have seen teens who battled with suicidal ideation and depression. I have worked with teens who felt unwanted and disconnected from the adults that were meant to encourage and support them. I understand your teen can seem difficult and defiant. I know this can feel overwhelming and discouraging when raising a teen but In my work, teens are not only able to feel heard they are empowered to manage the choices they are provided daily to see the change they can be proud of.

I am here to help, whether it’s trauma, social anxiety, academic struggle, or parent /child relationship. let join together to empower your teen to grow into an adult who is self-affirmed.

If this resonates with you, let’s take the first step by scheduling your free 20-minute consultation.
