About Nora Roostaie

My road to becoming a therapist…

Some people find their purpose through what they’ve overcome. For me, that’s exactly the case.

At 20 years old, I survived a car accident that led to the amputation of my left leg. What followed wasn’t just physical recovery – it was a complete reimagining of what my life was for. Surrounded by family, faith, and community, I learned to walk again and discovered that my deepest calling was helping others find hope when hope feels out of reach.

That conviction has shaped every step since. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, I spent four years in college ministry, walking alongside high school and college students through some of the hardest seasons of their lives. I watched young men, in particular, struggle in silence – with identity, with shame, with patterns they couldn’t seem to break on their own. That experience didn’t just inform my clinical focus – it became it.

I am now completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and practicing as a Graduate Student Counselor at Whole Life Priorities, under clinical supervision. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Recovery Coach and am actively pursuing a CSAT (Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist) certification – bringing both personal investment and professional training to a population that is often underserved and underrepresented in therapy.

I specialize in working with…

    • Individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, communication difficulties, disconnection, and patterns that seem to keep repeating
    • Families looking to improve communication, work through conflict, navigate changing family dynamics, and feel more connected
    • Clients who want to better understand their family-of-origin dynamics and how earlier experiences may still be influencing their relationships, emotions, and choices today
    • Adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, school or life transitions, and family challenges
    • Individuals struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, boundaries, or relationship concerns
    • Adults going through major life transitions, including career changes, divorce or relationship endings, and those moments when you’re trying to figure out what comes next
    • Professionals experiencing corporate burnout, chronic stress, perfectionism, work-life imbalance, or the feeling that life looks successful on paper but doesn’t necessarily feel that way

I also believe you don’t have to wait until you’re in crisis to come to therapy. Sometimes there’s simply a feeling that something in your life, your relationships, or even within yourself isn’t working the way you want it to anymore. Therapy can be a place to get curious about that, understand yourself more deeply, and figure out what you want to do differently.

When I’m not working as a therapist…

I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, finding great restaurants and coffee shops, and staying active through strength training and pilates. Spending time with family and friends is also really important to me. I’m naturally curious and love discovering somewhere new — whether that’s traveling across the world or finding a hidden gem right here at home.

I am currently accepting new clients. To schedule with me, contact us at nora@wholelifepriorities.com or call (512) 831-7676.
